Work with Me
In my sessions I will:
- Offer a safe and confidential environment where you can feel free and comfortable to talk about your challenges in an open and honest way
- Provide a space where I will help you set your own goals which will enable you to fulfil your own potential and live the life that you really want
- Help you gain a new perspective around alcohol and develop healthier ways to live a life without being dependent on anything outside of your own self
- Help you to explore the feelings and emotions that you might have found difficult to cope with and which led you to think of alcohol as a temporary solution to them
- Support you in working through and overcoming challenges that you might still find difficult to deal with even if you are now leading an alcohol-free lifestyle
I’m not there to fix you, you are not broken, none of us are! We just need some help from time to time to find new solutions to tackle our everyday issues. I will be there to help you find ways that work well for you. It might not always be a smooth journey, and you might find some rocky patches along the way, but I will be there beside you and support you in finding your freedom and changing those beliefs that have been holding you back until now.

I offer sliding scales for people on benefits or unemployed subject to availability.
What’s the process?
If after our consultation session we have found out we are a great fit for each other and we would like to start working together, I will email you three documents:
A. Client Agreement
B. Client Registration Form
C. My Code of Ethics
By asking you to read, complete and sign and return the Client Agreement and the Client Registration Form prior to our first session, I will be able to share with you my policy, gather important information about you, your current situation and what your desired outcomes are so that we can make the most of our first session and start tapping.
If needed, I will also introduce some written exercises during and/or in-between our sessions, which will help you in the achievement of your goals, in raising your awareness around your personal drinking habit and lay the foundations of your own sobriety.
What is Clinical EFT?
Clinical EFT is an evidence-based clinical and self-help modality that combines elements of cognitive, somatic and exposure therapy with the manual stimulation of acupuncture points. It has been described as “an emotional acupuncture without needles” because it is based on the same theory of Chinese acupuncture according to which our body has a map of meridians running throughout the body that carry energy through our system. The principle behind EFT is that mind and body are intrinsically interconnected and are part of the same system. The “acupoints” are based on the face, hands and torso and by “tapping” on them, the unpleasant emotions associated to triggers, memories, thoughts or behaviours are decreased or released.
From a neuroscience perspective, this evidence-based technique appears to decrease stress and foster cognitive shifts by sending a calming signal to the amygdala, the stress centre of our brain. The tapping has shown to deactivate the “threat response” that is triggered as a reaction to a stimulus that was perceived as unsafe and decreases the production of cortisol. This process appears to change the neural pathways, release individuals from their stressors and enable them to have a cognitive shift and make different choices. This allows the nervous system to feel safe again, and to make the necessary physiological changes in our body so that we stop having that unpleasant reaction. Research also shows that this technique produces quicker and more long-lasting results than talking therapy. These results have been documented by using fMRI and Neuro Imaging equipment (for links to these studies please
The success and beauty of EFT is that it brings together the ancient tradition of Chinese Medicine, the healing practices of the East and the modern principles and research of psychology and neuroscience. EFT has proved to help with a wide range of conditions, such as:
- Feelings of Isolation and Detachment
- Phobias, i.e. claustrophobia, agoraphobia, fear of spider, snakes, etc.
- Sleeping Problems
- Traumatic Memories and Events
- Dependency Issues, i.e. alcohol, food, gambling, nicotine, etc.
- Chronic Pain
Important: unlike other therapies where the client is asked to relive the trauma, with EFT this is avoided by putting in place strategies that allow the client to remain distanced throughout the work so that the risk of re-traumatisation is completely removed.
Matrix Reimprinting and other Advanced EFT Modalities
Matrix Reimprinting is a powerful and gentle Meridian Tapping Therapy which evolved from EFT. It was created by Karl Dawson, whom I trained with, in 2006. It has proven to be effective in healing emotional and physical issues, especially releasing the effects of past trauma and stress from the subconscious mind. While EFT removes the emotional intensity from a memory or a past event, when we use Matrix Reimprinting, we are able to go into a past memory and transform it by changing the meaning and the negative belief that we have attached to it and that has affected us throughout our lives. In this way, by resolving the past trauma, we are able to attract new and more resourceful experiences into our lives.
Other Advanced EFT Modalities that I use during the sessions with my clients include:
- Parts Work
- Inner Child Work
- Blended EFT and Neuro-Linguistic Programming Techniques
Important: unlike other therapies where the client is asked to relive the trauma, with Matrix Reimprinting and other advanced EFT modalities, this is avoided by putting in place strategies that allow the client to remain distanced throughout the work so that the risk of re-traumatisation is completely removed.
